The Granite Falls Business and Professional Women's Club is dedicated to helping women achieve their fullest potential. Our organization usually meets the fourth Tuesday evening of each month at 6:30 p. m. in the Granite Falls Civic Building on the campus of the William B. Shuford Recreation Center in Granite Falls, N. C. Each meeting consists of a meal, a program on a topic of interest to workingwomen, and a short business session. BPW/Granite Falls members also sponsors an annual Woman of the Year Reception during National Business Women's Week in October as well as special events throughout the year. Mission Statement: The Granite Falls Business and Professional Women's Club provides personal growth and professional development opportunities while encouraging and nurturing women as they pursue family, community, and career activities.
Legislative Platform: Ensure pay equity, equal educational and economic opportunities at all stages of life, support pension and social security reform; and promote affordable, quality dependent care to help ensure economic self-sufficiency for women.
Granite Falls Women of the Year Reception honoring the 2008 recipient and all previous winners : October 18, 2008 in the Granite Falls Civic Building: begins at 2 p. m. Call Linda Crowder at 828-396-1066 for reservations.
On Tuesday, October 21, 2008, BPW/Granite Falls members will be guests of BPW/Hickory at an Open House to be held from 6 - 8 p m at the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce (1055 Southgate Corporate Park SW, Hickory, NC 28602). Guest speakers will be Michelle Evans, President of BPW/NC; Frances Syptak, President of the League of Women Voters; and Marietta Burke, 2008 Mrs. North Carolina. The event is free. Next Local Meeting: BPW/Granite Falls will kick of the Christmas Season by holding a combined November/December meeting on December 2, 2008 at the Granite Civic Building beginning at 6:30 p. m. This will be a great opportunity for interested persons to learn more about BPW/Granite Falls.
